Annamaria Ruffini, CIS, CITP, CMM brought her time as a SITE leader to an extraordinary culmination by addressing the Senate of her native country, Italy, on the topic of incentive travel.
The Senate is one of the two houses that make up the Italian Parliament. This was first time that a Business Events association was invited to address the assembly. Presenting Events Industry Council research on the economic value of the our industry as well as data on Incentive Travel from the Incentive Travel Industry Index (ITII), 200 parliamentarians and other invited guests, including Vice President of the Senate On. Paola Taverna and The Italian Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Mr. Dario Franceschini, listened to Annamaria’s 20 minute intervention.
As the “I” in MICE, the global voice of the Incentive Travel Industry, it’s vital that SITE finds opportunities such as this one to evangelise around the business and societal case for incentive travel.
